Standard Course

The Standard Course consists of morning-only classes, running 3 hours per day, 5 days a week, for a total of 15 hours per week. Lessons emphasize practical communication, helping learners build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Japanese through real-life usage.

Afternoons are free for self-study, exploring Sapporo, or enjoying daily life in Hokkaido, allowing natural language practice outside the classroom. Those wishing to enhance their experience can also join optional afternoon or weekend cultural and seasonal activities by registering directly with the school and paying on an ad hoc basis. A level check test before arrival helps determine the appropriate course, while a final achievement test allows learners to measure their progress at the end of the program. Classes are limited to a maximum of six participants, ensuring personalized instruction from experienced teachers. For those planning to take the JLPT in Sapporo, the school can also be used as the exam address with prior consultation.

ACCOMMODATION

Share House

Hokkaido JaLS share houses provide affordable student living with a private bedroom while sharing bathrooms, kitchen, and living space with other residents. This option encourages social interaction and cultural exchange with both Japanese and international students. It is ideal for students who want to make friends and experience community living while studying Japanese. The commute to school is typically 20–30 minutes by public transport, and meals are not included, so students cook for themselves.

Private Apartment

For more privacy and independence, private apartments (weekly mansions) offer a furnished single room with a kitchen and private bathroom. This is great for students who prefer their own space and flexibility. Meals are not included, and you can cook in your own kitchen. The commute to school tends to be 15–25 minutes by public transport.

Homestay

The homestay option places you with a local Japanese host family who provides a private room and breakfast and dinner daily, offering immersive cultural experience and daily language practice.
