COURSES
Weekly Short-Term Japanese Course
Intercultural Institute of Japan offers weekly and short-term Japanese courses ideal for students who want to study without a student visa. Classes begin every Monday (or the following Tuesday if Monday is a holiday) and cover practical grammar, vocabulary, speaking and listening skills, focusing on real conversation. Students progress through levels from beginner to advanced, with communicative lessons and activities that build everyday Japanese ability. This flexible option suits tourists, working holiday participants and learners with limited time who want immersive language learning plus cultural practice in Tokyo.
Long-Term Visa & Academic Japanese Course
The long-term Japanese course at Intercultural Institute of Japan supports student visa applications and runs from 6 months up to 2 years, with intakes in January, April, July and October. The curriculum includes general Japanese, JLPT and EJU preparation, elective goal-based lessons and kanji study, as well as extra activities like speech contests and cultural excursions. Designed for serious learners aiming at higher education, internships or professional advancement in Japan, this course builds all four language skills within a supportive community of international students.
ACCOMMODATION
Student Dormitory
Intercultural Institute of Japan introduces students to nearby dormitories and shared living options. These accommodations often feature private or shared rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and free Wi-Fi, and are within walking distance of the school—minimizing commute time. Monthly rent varies by floor plan (single or twin rooms) and facility, with options available on a 3-month basis or longer. These dorms are suitable for students enrolled in long-term programs or those who want community living while studying Japanese.
Homestay & Other Options
For deeper cultural immersion, homestays with Japanese families can be arranged, allowing students to practice Japanese daily in real-life contexts. Homestay arrangements usually provide a private bedroom and may include meals, helping learners strengthen language skills and cultural understanding outside class. Additionally, the school can assist with hotel stays or other private housing options for short-term visitors or those seeking more independence during their study period in Tokyo.
