Interview – Story in Japan
- WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
-
India
- WHAT DO YOU DO IN JAPAN?
-
Freelance stylist and makeup artist.
- WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JAPAN?
-
Nature – Japan celebrates its nature. It worships it. Even if I go to the same place 5 times a year – the scenery every time will be completely different.
- WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STAY IN THIS CITY?
-
I moved to Misato, Saitama because of its accessibility to central Tokyo, yet the peace of staying away from the hustle and bustle of this raging city. Misato offers a tranquility that forces me to come back home every night.
- WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE IN THIS CITY?
-
I absolutely loved Kawagoe. The old town feeling with cobbled streets and Edo period houses gives such a cultural feel of Japan. The canal looks breathtaking during cherry blossom, and you can have a romantic time with your loved one on a boat. Also, the food is to die for!
- WHAT DID YOU ENJOY THE MOST WHILE STAYING ABROAD?
-
I enjoy the kindness that people have to offer.
In my 5 years of stay in Japan, I have not heard a single person be rude or shout at anyone.
Things are handled calmly and in an organized manner. It calms my nerves and I feel relaxed and at peace in Japan. And of course, the cultural side of Asakusa blended with modern gadgety gimmicky Akihabara, and a dash of whacky Shinjuku makes it the perfect global city in the world.
- DID YOU EXPERIENCE ANY CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE AND FUTURE PROSPECTS AFTER YOU START YOUR JOURNEY?
-
I come from a background where everyone is running to chase their dreams and does not have time for anyone. But in Japan, although everyone is running they all find time to pause and reflect and enjoy nature and be one with it. This has changed my mindset about life and I choose to take life one day at a time which has really reduced my anxiety.
- WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?
-
My dream is to work in the movie industry or fashion industry in Japan. I want to showcase my international techniques, learn from Japanese artists, and make a mark for myself in Japan.
- MESSAGE TO OUR FRIENDS WHO WILL GO TO JAPAN.
-
Don’t come, because once you do – you won’t be able to leave. It is THAT good!
