Usually, when I come to Japan, I travel around to different places. Some old, some new. On this most recent trip, I was able to finally study in Japan and see a new city!
- WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JAPAN?
-
I think the answer to that question has changed over time, but overall I would say that Japan is a beautiful country with wonderful food and culture. Every visit, I strive to develop new connections and meet new people through my language studies.
- WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STAY IN THIS CITY?
-
I have never been north of Sendai! I felt like I was really missing out on what Hokkaido had to offer. Plus, cooler weather!

-
Aesop Bakery Honten near Kita Ward, Marumi Coffee Stand in Sapporo Station.
- WHAT DID YOU ENJOY THE MOST WHILE STAYING ABROAD?

Trying all things Hokkaido. Hokkaido ice cream, cheese, soup curry. Sapporo is a great city for foodies.
- DID YOU EXPERIENCE ANY CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE AND FUTURE PROSPECTS AFTER YOU START YOUR JOURNEY?

Really enjoyed my time and experiences while studying in Japan. I think this renewed my dedication to studying Japanese. The biggest change was being surprised at how much I really wanted to spend more time in Hokkaido and how happy I was there.
- WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?
-
To own my place in Japan (maybe Sapporo now??) and enjoy the simplicities of daily life.

Stay for as long as you can. Japan is wonderful as a tourist destination, but I think the longer you are there, the more you fall in love. You get what you give in Japan as well. Try your best and people will see this and open themselves up to you.
