COURSES

Standard Study Abroad Course

The Standard Study Abroad Course at ARC Academy Kyoto is a structured, long-term program for students planning to study in Japan with a student visa. Organized into four-term cycles, this curriculum builds Japanese proficiency progressively from basic to advanced levels, emphasizing communicative competence, cultural understanding and practical language use. Placement testing places learners in the most suitable class for their skill level. From intermediate levels onward, students can choose optional elective classes tailored to individual goals. Regular cultural activities and field trips enrich the learning experience beyond the classroom, helping students integrate into Japanese life while pursuing future academic or career pathways.

Intensive Japanese Course

ARC Academy Kyoto also offers an Intensive Japanese Course designed for learners who want to study Japanese in a focused, shorter-term format. This three-month intensive program follows similar content to the full study abroad curriculum but in a condensed structure, making it ideal for students on holiday, working holiday visas or those seeking to boost their Japanese quickly. Intensive students participate in cultural experiences and communicative activities alongside regular lessons. Start dates are typically offered in January, April, July and October, accommodating flexible study plans throughout the year.

ACCOMMODATION

Student Dormitory / Shared Housing

ARC Academy Kyoto can assist students in finding Student Dormitories, Guesthouses or Shared Housing near campus. These accommodations typically provide private or shared rooms with common facilities like kitchens, laundry and living spaces, offering safe, convenient housing close to school and public transport. Living near the Kyoto campus makes commuting easy and supports daily Japanese practice with peers. Pricing and facilities vary by provider and length of stay, so students are encouraged to discuss their needs with school staff to find a match that fits their budget and study plan.

Homestay

For students seeking deeper cultural immersion, homestay options with Japanese host families may be arranged. Homestay placements usually include a private bedroom and may include meals, giving learners daily opportunities to use Japanese in real-life settings and learn local customs and etiquette alongside family life. Homestays are ideal for short-term learners and those new to Japan who want structured conversational practice and cultural exposure outside the classroom. Locations are typically chosen for convenient commuting to ARC Kyoto and supportive living environments.
