Interview – Japan

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

Russia

WHAT DO YOU DO IN JAPAN?

I came to Japan first time as a language school student, but now I work here as a project manager in the advertising company on weekdays. On weekend I am an influencer and model. Here in Japan I found so many things I enjoy in my free time: travel, dance, boxing, iaido, acrobatics, bodybuilding, surfing, tennis. yoga, meditation, photography, and many more.

WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JAPAN?

I fell in love with Japan when I was 5 years old and watched Sailor Moon every morning. My mom tried to convinced me to study Chinese but I felt Japan was calling for me. Now Japan is my home. I love everything here: culture, people, environment.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STAY IN THIS CITY?

I live in Tokyo and I love it, because here you have absolutely everything. Want to dance? Go to Roppongi! Business networking? Toranomon! Luxury time? Ginza! Some peace time? Meiji Jingu. Crazy vibes? Harajuku? Feel young again? Shibuya!

And I love seeing many ambitious people here, coming from all over the world to pursue their dreams.

WHERE IS YOUR LOCAL RECOMMENDATION IN THIS CITY?

I share my recommendation in insta, check it out!

My favorite area is Roppongi and Akasaka, it’s my home. I love watching people walking here, and almost every restaurant here deserves a Michelin star.

On summer I go to the public pool in Shiba park. You can watch beautiful Tokyo tower from there.

I also love going to Meguro sometimes. Mawashi Sushi Katsu Midori Meguro Is my favorite place to eat sushi.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY THE MOST WHILE STAYING ABROAD?

People. I love meeting people here: Japanese and foreigners with different backgrounds and experiences. I solo travel from time to time, and every time meeting new people is a pleasure for me.

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE BEING IN JAPAN?

Find your community. As a foreigner in any country you will feel the same – homesick, loneliness sometimes. It’s not only about Japan. Once you find your community and passion here, your life will change.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN JAPAN AND YOUR COUNTRY?

Japan is a very safe place, and people are very polite here. Also there are public toilets everywhere, my country doesn’t have this luxury.

DID YOU EXPERIENCE ANY CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE AND FUTURE PROSPECTS?

Japan and people here shaped me a lot. Here I found my job, built my career, my blog, my best friends.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?

I have many dreams! One of the biggest is to travel all around the world. Also, I want to open a retreat center one day. But these dreams may change and what is more important for me – is to live every day like it is the last day of my life. Enjoy it, share love, inspire, encourage, do good things, be honest to myself always and make people smile.

MESSAGE TO OUR FRIENDS WHO WILL GO TO JAPAN.

It will be the best trip of your life! No need to overthink it, it’s all worked out and it works, even if you don’t understand it at first. Trust the system and you’ll be fine. Oh, and don’t be more Japanese than the Japanese people… 😀
