Q&A

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

France

WHAT DO YOU DO IN JAPAN?

Working as a manager in a tearoom.

WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JAPAN?

I think we all have a similar interest in Japan since our childhood thanks to anime, for me that was the case but it became bigger when I discovered that my favorite video games came from Japan! And since my first time in Japan back in 2010, my love for this country increased and I wanted to come back again and again!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STAY IN THIS CITY?

Tokyo is I think the most convenient city of Japan, and it is my favorite city to stay as a foreigner, there is everything you would need, and life in Tokyo is so much fun and enjoyable!

WHERE IS YOUR LOCAL RECOMMENDATION IN THIS CITY?

That is kinda hard to pick only one place in Tokyo but I would say it depend my humor, sometimes I feel good to go in big area such as Shinjuku, perfect for me if I wanna do shopping, there is a tons of mall and shops, but of course sometimes I feel lazy to go in such big crowded area like this so I’ll pick Kagurazaka as a Frenchie I am, there is some shops, cafes and restaurants that reminds me my country, I also like going out of the central Tokyo and going on a day trip in the countryside and the one place that come to me right now is Mount Takao, especially now in Autumn season, it is wonderful to see!

WHAT DID YOU ENJOY THE MOST WHILE STAYING ABROAD?

The food and of course to be able to travel in places I’ve never been, Japan is such a marvelous country with pretty sightseeing.

DID YOU EXPERIENCE ANY CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE AND FUTURE PROSPECTS AFTER YOU START YOUR JOURNEY?

Of course, living in an other country very far from your own is kinda challenging, I think any big change in a life is difficult but life is difficult anyway so it’s better to provocate it!

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?

I don’t really have a specific dream, just having a good and happy life with my husband wherever we are.

MESSAGE TO OUR FRIENDS WHO WILL GO TO JAPAN.

Enjoy as much as possible your stay in Japan, and I would never recommend enough to learn just the few basics in Japanese to have at least a small communication with the locals because they are very friendly!

HOW DO YOU LEARN JAPANESE?

I learned first by myself to read and write the hiragana and katakana, took some home lessons with a personal teacher and then I took a year of scholarship in a Japanese Language school in Tokyo.
